The involvement of the Tomkinson family in carpet manufacture goes back to the mid-19th Century, when Mr Michael Tomkinson formed a business with the Adam family in Kidderminster – Tomkinson & Adam Ltd. Production began in 1869, and, by the late 1870s, they were producing woven Axminster carpet.
Since the acquisition of Manx, Mr Tomkinson re-established itself as one of the leading suppliers of Residential carpet to the UK market.
